Former Georgia star David Andrews retiring after 10-year NFL career

Former Georgia offensive lineman David Andrews is ready to call it a career, hanging things up after 10 seasons with the New England Patriots.
On Wednesday, the Patriots confirmed that the team will hold a retirement press conference for the longtime center on Monday. Andrews has been a mainstay for the franchise since joining New England despite going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Andrews earned 2nd-team All-SEC honors as a senior with the Bulldogs in 2014. Georgia would go 10-3 under Mark Richt that season, the 2nd-to-last year of Richt’s tenure in Athens prior to the arrival of Kirby Smart.
As a rookie, Andrews appeared in 14 games (11 starts) for New England. He would start 46 games across the next 3 seasons before missing the entirety of the 2019 season after a pulmonary embolism.
Outside of that season, Andrews was a rock for the offensive line, appearing in 12+ games every season from 2020-23. He also appeared in 16+ games 4 times.
Andrews was unfortunately limited to 4 games in 2024 due to a shoulder injury, and he was released by the Patriots after the end of the season. Now, he’ll retire as a 2-time Super Bowl champ with the franchise.
