Former LSU wide receiver DJ Chark is reportedly heading to a new NFL team for the 2025 season.

Last year, Chark spent just one season with the Los Angeles Chargers. He appeared in just 7 games and had the lowest statistical season of his career with just 4 catches for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Now, he’s reportedly heading to the NFC and back to the Southeast. According to NFL insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, Chark spent Friday visiting with the Atlanta Falcons, and he turned that visit into a one-year contract.

Atlanta already had a stable of weapons in the passing attack, led by Drake London, Darnell Mooney and tight end Kyle Pitts. However, Mooney sustained an injury during training camp, and the signing of Chark could mean the Falcons are anticipating a longer absence from the team’s 2nd-leading receiver a year ago.

Chark left the Tigers as a 2nd-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he spent the first 4 seasons of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2019, he posted his first and only Pro Bowl appearance with a 1,000-yard season.

Chark had posted back-to-back seasons with 500+ receiving yards in 2022 and 2023 before signing with the Chargers, but did not replicate that success in LA. Now, he returns to the Southeast to try and rejuvenate his career with the Falcons.
