Former Ole Miss star tight end Evan Engram is switching time zones but staying in the AFC, as the 30-year-old Georgia native signed a 2-year deal with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday.

The Broncos added Engram on the first day of free agency, and he’ll be joining an offense that’s led by former Auburn and Oregon star quarterback Bo Nix.

The deal for Engram is worth $23 million, with $16.5 million fully guaranteed, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Broncos had been looking for help at the tight end position in recent seasons and should get it by adding the 2-time Pro Bowler, who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this month in a move that saved $5.98 million against the Jaguars’ salary cap.

After his second Pro Bowl season in 2023, Engram missed 8 games last season with hamstring and shoulder injuries, finishing with 47 catches for 365 yards and just 1 touchdown in 9 games in 2024.

Engram was drafted 23rd overall by the New York Giants in 2017. He piled up 262 receptions for 2,828 yards and 16 touchdowns in 5 seasons with the Giants before signing with Jacksonville in 2022.

Now, the former first-team All-American with Ole Miss will get another new start with Nix and the Broncos, who made the playoffs last season for the first time since winning the Super Bowl in 2015.
