There are field goal misses and then there’s what happened to Younghoe Koo and the New York Giants on Monday night.

In the 2nd quarter of Monday’s game between the Giants and New England Patriots, the Giants put out the field goal team for a 47-yard attempt in hopes of cutting the deficit to 17-10. A field goal, though, was never attempted. Koo completely missed the ball.

Instead of a field goal attempt, the holder was sacked near midfield for a turnover on downs.

Things did not get much better for the Giants. They lost the game to the Patriots, 33-15.

Koo, 31, is a veteran kicker. He began his career with the Los Angeles Chargers. Koo is best known for his multiple seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2019-25). He was the NFL’s scoring co-leader in 2020 and made the Pro Bowl that season.

The Giants are on a bye in Week 14 and will try to end the 7-game losing skid in Week 15 against the Washington Commanders.
