Joe Buck reportedly set to leave FOX Sports as he lands new NFL broadcasting role

Joe Buck has made the first move in what is expected to be a busy offseason of moves among NFL broadcasters.
Buck is expected to leave Fox Sports for ESPN, where he will become the voice of “Monday Night Football,” The New York Post reported.
Buck, 52, has called the World Series for nearly a quarter century and was Fox’s play-by-player on 6 Super Bowls. On Friday, Fox granted Buck permission to talk with ESPN, according to sources. A deal is expected to come to fruition shortly.
With Fox, Buck had one-year at $11 million remaining on his contract. Fox, though, is letting him out early as a good gesture for his years of service to the company. He is expected to sign a contract in the five-year, $60-$75 million range with ESPN, according to sources.
Known initially nationally for his baseball broadcasts, Buck has called 24 World Series and 26 MLB League Championship Series for FOX. In 2020, Buck was informed, while on-air during the Cleveland Browns-Cincinnati Bengals Thursday Night Football broadcast, that he would be awarded the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award, according to his FOX bio.
As the lead voice for FOX NFL since 2002, Buck worked with analysts Troy Aikman and Cris Collinsworth for 3 seasons (2002-04), before partnering exclusively with Aikman in 2005. This reported move would mean the end of the duo, which is the second longest-running broadcast team to call NFL games, behind broadcast legends Pat Summerall and John Madden.
