Joe Burrow was forced to leave the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after he was sacked midway through the second half. After being helped off the field by the trainers, he was helped to the locker and could barely put any weight on his left foot.

Unfortunately for Burrow and the Bengals, he suffered a Grade-3 turf toe injury that will require surgery, and he will miss a minimum of three months.

That’s according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Injuries have been an issue for Burrow in his NFL career, as this will be his third season of missing at least six games in six years. In his rookie campaign, he missed the last six games because of a torn ACL.

In 2023, the former LSU star suffered a wrist injury that forced him to miss the last six games of that season.

Burrow entered this season coming off the best campaign of his career, as he threw for 4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. The Bengals came in to the year knowing they were going to have to score a lot of points to win, as their defense was one of the worst in the NFL last season.

That task just got that much harder, as the team will count on Jake Browning to try and manage the offense. He was able to lead the team to a comeback win against the Jaguars on Sunday, but he also threw three interceptions in that effort.
