Julio Jones is getting set for his latest NFL season, and the former Alabama star said he considered signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as soon as he was informed that the Tennessee Titans would not be bringing him back.
The former All-Pro wide receiver signed a one-year deal with the Bucs on Tuesday. Jones said he is excited to play with quarterback Tom Brady and compete for a Super Bowl.

“Being with a Hall of Fame quarterback, a great quarterback. The coaching staff here,” Jones said. “It’s next door, I’m from Alabama, I played in Georgia. It’s right here. My family can come see me.
“Just having the ability come down here and work,” Jones continued. “Bring what I can to the team, whatever I can to the team, whether it’s mentor, play style…whatever the case may be.”
Jones was an All-SEC performer at Alabama from 2008-2010, helping the Crimson Tide will a BCS championship in the 2009 season.
He was selected sixth overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2011 and was a first or second-team All Pro 5 times in his career.
Jones has 879 receptions for 13,330 yards and 61 touchdowns in his NFL career.
