Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels kick off their Amazon Prime Thursday Night Football broadcasting partnership this week as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers.

Herbstreit is determined not only to capture a large audience on an experimental medium, but be the best at it, too.

“My internal goal — no matter what the critics say — is not to be, ‘Wow, they’re pretty good,’” Herbstreit said, via Awful Announcing. “I want to be the best booth in television. NBA, MLB, college — I want to be the best. I’m not doing this to just limp across the finish line and say, ‘I made it.’ My goal is to be the best booth in television and I feel like I’m working with Al and Freddy (Gaudelli), I don’t know why we can’t be.”

Amazon’s coverage will feature 2 skycams instead of just one, and will have 29 cameras total.
