The annual NFL Scouting Combine is an opportunity of a lifetime for all the former collegiate stars who receive an invite, giving them the chance to put their skills and talent on full display in front of scouts and executives from all 32 NFL teams.

For consensus first round picks, the combine really allows them to further cement their status in the pecking order, but it also allows some under-the-radar prospects to put the league on notice with a stellar showing.

Former Arkansas running back Mike Washington Jr. did just that on Saturday afternoon when he took the field for the 40-yard dash and blew everybody in attendance away by posting a blazing fast 4.33 time.

This incredible run immediately became one of the top stories from the combine as it was the fastest time posted among all running backs in attendance. Afterward, Washington Jr. was overtaken by emotion when learning just how fast he ran.

The 40-yard dash is widely viewed as the most important event at the combine for skill position players, with a good time quite literally meaning the difference in millions of dollars.

Nobody knows where Washington Jr. will end up landing in the draft at this point, but it’s safe to assume that his performance in the 40-yard dash most likely bumped him up a few spots on a few teams’ draft boards.
