The NFL is cracking down hard on players who do not follow COVID protocols. Two of those players who violated those protocols were former SEC players Mike Edwards (Kentucky) and John Franklin III (Auburn).
The NFL suspended Edwards who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 3 games. Franklin, who is a free agent at the moment, is ineligible for the next 3 games.
Neither player plans to appeal their suspensions, per the NFL’s announcement. Tampa Bay wide receiver Antonio Brown has also been suspended for 3 games.
The NFL released a statement in part explaining the suspension and why the league is concerned about the health and well-being of its players.
