NFL to officially move Bills-Browns Sunday bout amid forecasted severe snowy weather

The NFL announced Thursday that it will officially be moving Sunday’s Bill-Browns game from Buffalo to Detroit as severe winter weather moves into upper New York.

The forecast is calling for 3-6 feet of snow and a potential “thundersnow” which is essentially a thunderstorm with snow as the precipitation instead of rain. This is a considerably rare phenomenon that happens in extreme conditions.

So as much as a Snow Bowl would be loved by fans, it’s probably not the worst idea to move the game.

The Bills are 6-3 on the season while Cleveland sits at 3-6, Buffalo is fresh off one of the best regular season games in some time, narrowly losing to Minnesota, 33-30. Ironically, Buffalo plays Detroit at Ford Field next week following its game against Cleveland.

Kickoff time is still set for 1 p.m.
