Carroll last coached the Seattle Seahawks in 2023. He maintains an advisory role with the club’s front office.
Carroll was the coach of the Seahawks for 14 seasons (2010-23). His tenure was highlighted by the team’s Super Bowl XLVIII win for the 2013 season.
In Seattle, Carroll posted a record of 137-89-1. He is 170-120-1 as an NFL head coach, having also coached the New York Jets (1994) and New England Patriots (1997-99).
Carroll is part of an exclusive club of coaches who have won a national championship at the college ranks and a Super Bowl. He was USC’s head coach from 2001-09, notching a 97-19 record while leading the Trojans to AP national titles in 2003 and ’04, as well as a BCS title for 2004 that was later vacated due to NCAA scandal.
The Bears fired Matt Eberflus on Nov. 29. Per Schefter, the opportunity to work with former USC quarterback Caleb Williams appeals to Carroll.
