This year’s NFL Draft, which kicks off later this month in Pittsburgh, looks like it’ll be lighter on SEC talent than most first rounds in recent history.

Nowhere is that more clear than in ESPN insider Peter Schrager’s latest Round 1 mock draft, which only features 6 SEC standouts going in the first 32 picks.

Most mocks have between 8 and 12 SEC stars going in Round 1, but from what Schrager is hearing, that number could be a bit lower. Here are the half-dozen players from the SEC he has in his mock:

  • No. 10 — Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU — Cincinnati Bengals
  • No. 15 — Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • No. 19 — Monroe Freeling, OL, Georgia — Carolina Panthers
  • No. 24 — KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M — Cleveland Browns
  • No. 25 — Kadyn Proctor, OL, Alabama — Chicago Bears
  • No. 29 — Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee — Kansas City Chiefs

Time is running out for players to make a last push to improve their draft stocks. We’ll see what happens as Thursday, April 23, quickly approaches.

Who will go in the top 10 of this year’s NFL Draft? Will we see at least 1 SEC player? Will 2 be drafted in the first 10? Here’s a look at the latest Kalshi market:
