The Cincinnati Bengals witnessed a tense moment at Wednesday’s practice, after rookie Shemar Stewart accidentally bumped Joe Burrow on the field.

According to reports, the incident happened during a team drill, when Stewart’s momentum carried him into Burrow. Bengals offensive lineman Ted Karras spoke to reporters after practice and confirmed it was Stewart who initiated the skirmish between the Bengals players.

While no punches were thrown, the clash drew the attention of coaches and teammates, who quickly intervened to keep the situation under control. Karras told reporters that “he liked the fire,” Stewart showed, but he has to be smarter around Burrow. Karras also said the offensive line has to “block better” in practice.

“Come on man that’s all our hopes and dreams right there,” Karras said. “But, we’ve got to be better too. That’s on us.”

Here’s a clip of the play in question:

As Cincinnati prepares for the 2025 season, Stewart remains a key player to watch, and Burrow continues to lead the offense with his usual poise and professionalism.

The Bengals will open the 2025 campaign against the Browns on Sept. 7.
