The Tennessee Titans have a pair of former SEC stars as the anchors of their receiving corps. A.J. Brown and Julio Jones are among the top wide receivers in the NFL, and they were both off to strong starts in their first season as teammates.

However, Brown and Jones will be spending plenty of time together this Sunday — but on the sideline.

On Friday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel told the media that Brown and Jones will both miss Sunday’s game against the New York Jets because each is dealing with a hamstring injury. Brown exited last week’s win over the Indianapolis Colts in the first quarter, while Jones got hurt late in the contest.

Brown is currently in his third NFL season (all with Tennessee) after playing at Ole Miss from 2016-18. Through the Titans’ first 3 games this year, he had 7 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Jones, who played at Alabama from 2008-10, spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the Atlanta Falcons before getting traded to Tennessee in April. He has 12 catches for 204 yards in his first 3 games with the Titans.

Even though the Titans will be without their top 2 wide receivers, they may still not have much trouble scoring against the Jets, who have lost their first 3 games of the season. However, it’s unclear when Brown and/or Jones may return to Tennessee’s lineup, so perhaps this could be more than a 1-week absence for either.
