Touchdowns are tough to come by in the NFL, so when a player has the opportunity to score, they have to make sure that ball gets across the goal line. Last week, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell dropped the ball at the one, and it ended up costing the team dearly in their lone loss on the season.
On Sunday, Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado became the latest player to drop the ball right before they get in the endzone, and it gave the Tennessee Titans new life in the game and they were able to complete the comeback.
The loss is absolutely brutal for the Cardinals, who play in arguably the toughest division in the NFL. They were in complete control of this game for most of the day, and fall to 2-3 on the season.
It’s especially brutal for Demercado, who is vying for a larger role in Arizona’s offense following injuries to James Conner and Trey Benson.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, and unfortunately, it won’t be the last time either.
