High school football teams are well into the meat of their schedules in 2022, and on Friday night in Belton, Texas, Friday Night Lights took on a little bit different of a meaning.
Shoemaker High School head coach Toby Foreman recorded 2 wins Friday night. First, his Grey Wolves defeated the Lake Belton Broncos 34-33 on a game-winner with 7 seconds left.
Following the last-second win, Foreman proposed to his girlfriend of 2 years, Erika, on the field with his team surrounding him, and she said yes. KCENTV’s Matt Lively was there for Foreman to pop the big question.
SHE SAID YES…ON LIVE TV.
Congrats to my @SHSCoachForeman on sealing the deal in the game (and romantically.) Only on @KCENSports does this stuff happen. @TODAYshow @BuzzFeed @SportsCenter @ShoeWolfPack @dctf @espn @GMA @6NewsCTX pic.twitter.com/AX9f9hFC0w

The Grey Wolves improved to 2-2 on the season. Prior to Foreman’s arrival in 2017, Shoemaker High School was 0-10.
