The Little League World Series wrapped up Sunday evening but not without first delivering some wild fireworks in the conclusion!

In the LLWS Finals, Florida’s Lake Mary team squared off against the international bracket champion from Chinese Taipei. The two sides did not determine a champion in 6 innings with Florida tying the game at 1 run apiece while down to its final out.

The two sides stood deadlocked in the low-scoring affair into the 8th inning when Florida was able to get the winning run on 2nd base. With no outs in the inning, the team called a sacrifice bunt, and it was a dandy.

The placement of the bunt ensured no out was going to be made on either runner, but the pitcher for Chinese Taipei fielded the bunt and attempted to throw the batter out at 1st. The problem? No fielder rotated to cover the bag with the first baseman trying to field the bunt.

The throw sailed into right field, more than enough time for the winning run to score from 2nd base. It sends Florida to its first-ever LLWS title while Chinese Taipei will look back on the wild loss in heartbreaking fashion.
