While it is Week 1 of the 2024 college football season, there are still some big time Major League Baseball games taking place. One of those matchups is between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East.
In the seventh inning, Michael Harris II made one of the best catches you will ever see, robbing a home run from Phillies left fielder Austin Hays.

Michael Harris II just made one of the most spectacular homer-robbing catches you're ever gonna see. Wow. He leaped and caught Austin Hays' fly ball high above the CF wall, and held on after hitting nearly waist-high on the wall and springing back to the field with ball in glove.

Harris, a Georgia native, went straight to the MLB from high school, being drafted in the third round of the 2019 draft. He was recruited by Texas Tech, as well as SEC contender LSU.
He was named the Rookie of the Year during the 2022 season, beating out his Braves teammate, Spencer Strider.
While he made the probable SportsCenter Top 10 play of the night, the Braves were unable to get the victory, losing 3-0. While it doesn’t look like the Braves will win the division, the team is still right in the heart of the wild card race, despite having had key players miss extended time. Harris himself has played in only 83 out of 138 games, as he missed two months with a Grade 2-hamstring injury.
The Braves will look to split the series with a win against the Phillies on Sunday.
