Underdog Fantasy is live and ready for the exciting 2024 WNBA season. Former Iowa star Caitlin Clark has taken her talents to the Indiana Fever and on Thursday night, she’ll make her home debut against the New York Liberty.
The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. ET in Indianapolis and can be seen on Prime Video.
The Fever lost the season opener in Connecticut, falling 92-71 to the Sun. But Clark was impressive in her first professional game, scoring 20 points and knocking down 4 3-pointers. She also went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
For Clark’s game against the Liberty on Thursday night, Underdog is offering a special discount. If Clark scores even a single point against New York, users will win that leg of their contest!

My Picks for Fever vs. Liberty
Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever: Higher than 0.5 points
This is the no-brainer free square you should take advantage of. Even though she wasn’t her sharpest self shooting in her WNBA debut, Clark still managed 20 points. In front of a friendly home crowd in Indiana, she’s basically a lock to score at least 1 point. Could you imagine the reaction of Indiana fans if their new superstar was held scoreless in her home debut? Don’t expect that to happen tonight.
Aliyah Boston, Indiana Fever: Lower than 23.5 points+rebounds+assists
The WNBA only has 2 preseason games for each team, so the first couple of weeks of the regular season are still basically warmups for some players. In the opener at Connecticut, Boston (a former South Carolina star) only scored 4 points to go with 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Tonight against a strong Liberty squad, I expect her to come up just shy of 24 points+rebounds+assists.
Breanna Stewart, New York Liberty: Lower than 20.5 points
Stewart was the WNBA MVP last year, so you know she’ll heat up soon. I just think it’ll take her until next week to hit her stride. She only scored 8 points in a season-opening win at Washington earlier this week. I expect her and Boston to play tight defense on one another, keeping each other from having breakout performances. Though I predict Stewart will score 10+ points tonight, I think she’ll be held to 20 or fewer.
How Many Picks Should You Make?
In Underdog’s “Champions” pick’em mode, a 3-leg contest with the picks I detailed above, which includes the Caitlin Clark free square, would net around a 6x multiplier. That means if all 3 of my picks are correct, I’d earn approximately $30 for a $5 entry fee, depending on how other competitors in my Champions pool fare.
Here’s a look at how the contest appears on Underdog’s easy-to-use app:
I usually prefer to make entries with 3-4 picks, but you can make as many picks as you want (up to 5 picks per contest with a 20x multiplier). Just make sure you get your selections in before tipoff of tonight’s WNBA slate!
