Laura Rutledge openly shares with audiences across ESPN and the SEC Network, and offers extensive posts across social media about her family and work.

So for those who follow the host of “NFL Live” and “SEC Nation,” it was not a surprise to see her on the set at the NFL Draft while 9 months pregnant. But in a new podcast episode with ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Rutledge shared what it was like to go through that experience.

“Definitely was not the most comfortable I’ve ever been in life, but that’s OK,” she said. “I was so thankful to be there. I truly, I’ve reflected on it a lot, and I think in the moment, you just go, go, go. But to look back and say, ‘Wow.’ There was a time in my life and my career where I thought even having children wasn’t going to be possible with what the demands of the career are. I had just accepted that. So to know that I was comfortable enough to show up and do that and feel confident, feel supported, I think, is a surprise to me and a surprise that I’m really excited to share about.”
