New Orleans Saints fans were excited to hear about the return of running back Mark Ingram who was traded back to the team from the Houston Texans.

Ingram spent most of his career in New Orleans before playing 2 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, then moving onto the Houston Texans this year.

But with his return, Ingram won’t be wearing his familiar No. 22 that he wore in college, and with the Saints for 8 years, this time around, he will be wearing 14.

He explains why the number change. He says it’s because of some weird NFL rule and that won’t allow him to take back his number even though it was offered to him by the current No. 22 of the Saints, Chauncey “C.J.” Gardner-Johnson.

“Unless something changes I am going to rock No. 14,” said Ingram.

But as long as Gardner-Johnson is on the team, Ingram can’t get his old number back. So for now, his number is 14.
