NFL Mock Draft 2.0 season is upon us and ESPN’s Todd McShay has offered a preview for his latest rankings, which are due out on Wednesday.

The draft has long been linemen rich, and that continues to be the case for McShay, who wrote on social media that Alabama OT Evan Neal remains in his top 5.

Neal has long been a popular selection among scouts and NFL Draft analysts. Here’s an example from NFL.com.

“At 6-foot-7 and 350 pounds, per school measurements, Neal combines massive size with the quick feet and long arms necessary to be evaluated as a top tackle prospect by scouts. NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, in studying 2020 film of Neal last summer, wrote that he “has the skill set of a 10-year starter at right tackle.” Jeremiah compared Neal’s style to two-time Pro Bowler Marcus McNeill, who was a second-round pick of the Chargers in 2006.”

Neal has showed his versatility over the years. Neal started at left guard, then moved to right tackle for his sophomore season in 2020, and finally filled left tackle in 2021. He excelled at all 3 positions, and earned freshman All-America honors as a guard and, 2 years later, was named a consensus All-American at left tackle.
