NFL stars took notice of a unique touchdown celebration that took place in the Incarnate Word game on Saturday. Incarnate Word wide receiver Jalen Walthall scored a 50-yard TD and then proceeded to do a strange headstand celebration.

Strangely, the WR was flagged for the celebration. It didn’t exactly matter, however, as Incarnate Word went on to defeat Houston Christian, 45-20. On Sunday, a couple of NFL stars paid tribute to the flagged celebration after scoring their own TDs.

First, Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London pulled off the celebration after scoring a 9-yard TD. London’s Falcons went on to win 27-21 over the Dallas Cowboys in the early window.

Then, in the afternoon window, Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown did the celebration as well after scoring a 3-yard TD in the 2nd quarter. St. Brown’s score put the Lions up 7-3 over the Green Bay Packers early in the 2nd quarter.

It’s worth noting that neither NFL player was penalized for the celebration. It’s unknown why Walthall was flagged, as typically players aren’t penalized for celebrations unless taunting is involved. College football refs will allow choreographed celebrations with teammates, but headstands are where the line is drawn apparently.

It’s always cool to see that NFL players pay attention to college football games, especially at the FCS level. Westhall and Incarnate Word improved to 7-2 after the win on Saturday.
