Patrick Mahomes left the Kansas City Chiefs’ game on Sunday following an ugly high-low hit where his head was whiplashed against a defensive lineman’s leg.

The Tennessee Titans beat the Chiefs 27-3, but the larger story from the game was Mahomes’ injury, as he was first tackled by the leg by former Mississippi State standout Jeffery Simmons, and then was hit in the head by a blow from Harold Landry III that left Mahomes woozy. He was helped off the field by teammates.

Mahomes was 20-for-35 passing for 206 yards with an interception. He also had 6 carries for 35 yards in the game as the Chiefs fell to 3-4, and the Titans improved to 5-2.

The play happened in the fourth quarter on fourth-and-18 when Mahomes was sacked at Tennessee’s 33-yard line.
