Stefon Diggs had an off game on Sunday night during the Buffalo Bills’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Divisional Playoffs. But the Bills’ star wide receiver made a huge play in between whistles when a Chiefs fan ran on the field.

Diggs lowered the boom on the fan, and dropped him at about the 25-yard line, as security personnel circled in, and other players watched.

Diggs in the game had just 3 catches for 7 yards, on 6 targets, a notable drop off for the Bills’ leading receiver, who had 103 catches for 1,225 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In a game that proved to be an instant classic, Diggs and the Bills fell to the Chiefs in overtime, 42-36. Patrick Mahomes led a game-winning drive in overtime after the Chiefs won the coin toss, and against a gassed defense, he found Travis Kelce in the corner of the end zone from 8 yards. That gave the Chiefs the win even though Diggs and the Buffalo offense never got a chance in overtime.

The lead changed hands 3 times in the final 2 minutes of regulation, and there were 25 points scored over that stretch. Harrison Butker, who earlier had missed a field goal and extra point, connected on a 49-yarder as time expired to force the extra session.
