When football pads come on during fall camp, fights are going to happen.
Guys have pent up energy all summer before fall camp, and then, all at once, the flood gates open.
Well, Northwestern had its first day in shoulder pads Monday, and at least two different after-the-whistle skirmishes took place. Instead of just settling the players down and running another play, head coach Pat Fitzgerald makes his players hold hands and walk around the field. Seriously.
