Lou Holtz wows Notre Dame players with magic trick during motivational speech
Lou Holtz is a legend many times over.
While he was a great coach across multiple universities, Holtz was also a fixture on ESPN during halftime with Rece Davis and Mark May for more than a decade. His line “I’ve heard so many players say ‘Well, I want to be happy.’ You want to be happy for a day? Eat a steak” is a legendary quote.
The former Notre Dame head coach paid a visit to his former school and spoke to the team. During his appearance, he decided a performance was necessary.
“If you really have a faith and belief in one another and what you’re doing,” he said, “people can tell you, they can say negative things. People can doubt you, but you can never doubt yourself. You must always believe that you are part of something special. That no matter what happens, people can’t tear you down. When you have a faith and a belief, you’ll find a way.”

Performing a magic trick by ripping up a newspaper to only reform it just rose Holtz’ legend status even higher.
