James had been committed to Boston College since December of 2023. However, Notre Dame offered him a scholarship this past weekend. He also has offers from programs such as Duke, Minnesota, Syracuse and Virginia, amongst others.
James is currently listed as an athlete, but he’s expected to play running back in South Bend. He’s the No. 78 running back in the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
He attends DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey. He’s listed at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds.
James is the second running back to join Notre Dame’s 2025 recruiting class so far. The Fighting Irish also have a commitment from 3-star Justin Thurman. Overall, Notre Dame has 24 commits in the class of 2025. The group sits at No. 14 nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
