Sometimes, it’s good to have the last name Manning.

Eli and Peyton have made the successful transition from players to media personalities. They made the Manning simulcast of Monday Night Football a massive success and drew a lot of interest from both social media and critics alike.

One of the successful ventures of both is their own show. Peyton’s Places and Eli’s Places have been on ESPN+ and they visit different people and locations. The latest version of Eli’s Places took them to South Bend.

While at Notre Dame, they recreated Knute Rockne’s favorite play, Old 51.

“The legend is he used to have players come over to this yard, and run these plays,” Peyton said. “The question is, can you guys help us run this play.”

Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman also took part in the episode, and re-created some of Rockne’s famous locker room speeches.

The play itself is a quarterback sweep. Eli takes the ball, fakes the handoff, and follows his blockers around the right end. It was a nice touch seeing Eli wear an old-school letterman jacket, one made famous by the movie Rudy.

A really fun scene with the Mannings, Freeman and some of his players.
