Carson Kent, Kennesaw State transfer, commits to Oklahoma

Carson Kent, a former Kennesaw State tight end out of Milton, Georgia, will play for Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners next season. He committed to Oklahoma over West Virginia.
Kent is entering his 3rd year in college football, but he first started seeing action in 2024. And though his numbers don’t pop out at you – 18 receptions for 314 yards and 3 touchdowns in the FCS ranks – he’s a strong addition for the Sooners staff.
At 6-4, 240 pounds, Kent’s abilities as a threat on offense could be unlocked by the Sooners, whose leading receiver was a tight end this past season. And with Bauer Sharp now hitting the transfer portal, Kent could be in for a major role moving forward. Since he saw action on defense and special teams his freshman season, Kent will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Here’s Kent’s announcement on X:
Oklahoma’s passing attack needs major work, that isn’t exactly a secret. But in fairness, Jackson Arnold wasn’t exactly working with the best receiving corps in the nation. And with Arnold now out of town, the baton is passed to former Wazzu QB John Mateer.
The Sooners have done a good job in the portal thus far, but they’ll need to keep attacking for more stars on offense.
