Danny Okoye, elite 2024 edge, announces SEC commitment
Danny Okoye is staying home. The sought-after edge defender from Tulsa has committed to play for Oklahoma.
Okoye has picked up scholarship offers from 30 programs during his recruitment. He narrowed it down to Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas for Wednesday’s decision.
In a public ceremony, Okoye announced his verbal pledge to play for Brent Venables’ program.

A NOAH standout, Okoye’s listed measurements are 6-4 and 241 pounds. He is rated 4-stars, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Oklahoma, No. 10 edge defender and No. 149 prospect overall in the Class of 2024 on the 247Sports Composite.
Okoye took a visit to Oklahoma for the Sooners’ Week 1 game. He documented the trip on social media, including a preview of how he would look sporting No. 16 for OU.
