One trend across college football is the lights going off at key moments in a game, such as the end of the 3rd quarter. While it is considered pretty cool for the fans, many people across the country are totally against it. On Saturday night, the lights out after a touchdown occurred right when a brawl began.

The Oklahoma Sooners were beating the West Virginia Mountaineers, 45-20, in the 4th quarter when Drake Stoops caught a touchdown. He laid motionless on the field, and multiple West Virgina stood over Stoops. Right as the lights went off, a huge fight broke out that saw Oklahoma’s McKade Mettauer get a personal foul, unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Stoops, the son of former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, had the best game of his career. He finished the game with 10 catches, 164 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 59-20 win.

The yards and touchdowns are both career highs, and the only other time he had more catches than against West Virginia was his 12 catches in Bedlam last week.

With the win, the Sooners still have a chance to sneak in the Big 12 Championship. With Oklahoma State losing to UCF, there is now at least 3 teams tied for the second spot. If Iowa State beats BYU on Saturday night, the Cyclones will join, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Kansas State.
