Oklahoma fans are salty with Lincoln Riley. So much so that they’re invading one of his Twitter posts with negative replies.
The former Sooners head coach and current USC head coach was on hand for the Los Angeles Rams’ 51-14 rout vs. the visiting Denver Broncos on Christmas. Riley’s former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 24 of his 28 passes for 230 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions in the victory.
Afterward, Riley posed in a photo that included Mayfield.
Great to see @bakermayfield get the Christmas Day W! 1st time to see one of my Q’s NFL games in person….really special! pic.twitter.com/Us7e0GC6YS

This set off a chain reaction of furious Oklahoma fans. The fans became extremely possessive, proclaiming that Mayfield is their “Q” and bashed Riley for his lack of loyalty for his departure from Oklahoma.

Baker walked on at OU. Lincoln was a wiff on the first go round on Baker, Kyler and Hurts.

The 39-year-old Riley began at Oklahoma in 2015 as an offensive coordinator and then served as head coach from 2017 to 2021. Riley guided the Sooners to 4 consecutive Big 12 championships (2017-20) and was the Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2018.
Oklahoma is 6-6 this season in their first campaign without Riley and will conclude with a matchup vs. No. 13 Florida State in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29 (5:30 p.m. ET/ESPN).
