Oklahoma lands pledge from 3-star safety out of OKC

Oklahoma football landed a commitment from high 3-star safety Mykel Patterson-McDonald Monday afternoon, the Sooners’ 17th pledge of the 2024 cycle.

Patterson-McDonald hails from Oklahoma City, attending Westmoore High School. He stands at 5-10, 175 pounds.

He has some speed to him as well. Patterson-McDonald runs track and long jumped 21-9 as a junior last season.

Among others, Patterson-McDonald chose Oklahoma over Missouri, Houston and UNLV.

Patterson-McDonald is considered to be the No. 688 overall prospect in the Class of 2024, as well as the No. 72 safety and No. 6 player out of the state of Oklahoma.
