Oklahoma ended the season 6-6 and had a number of ups and downs throughout the year. With that type of campaign and the hiring of a new offensive coordinator, attrition was to be expected.
Some more arrived on Saturday, as tight end Bauer Sharp revealed his intention to enter the transfer portal. Sharp spent 1 season with the Sooners after transferring in from Southeastern Louisiana last offseason.

The Sooners weren’t an elite passing team this year, but Sharp was the only constant. He appeared in all 12 games and led the team with 42 receptions and 324 yards, while scoring 2 touchdowns.
While he led the team in some key offensive categories, he also had some bad moments mixed in with the good. The news of his departure was met with a mixed reaction from Sooner fans..
One area where he struggled was in the blocking game, especially when it came to being penalized. He finished the season with 5 penalties. Per PFF, Sharp had the fourth-worst offensive grade among qualified SEC tight ends.
While Sharp announced that he would be entering the transfer portal, players can’t officially be in the portal until Dec. 9. On Sunday, the College Football Playoff bracket will be released, as will the remaining bowl game matchups.
