Texas safety B.J. Foster issues warning to Jalen Hurts
There’s been no shortage of chatter between players on both sides of the Red River Shootout, as Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts has exchanged volleys, and been the subject of trash talking from the Texas players.
The latest comes from Texas safety B.J. Foster, who has a reputation as one of the hardest hitters on the Longhorns’ team, according to Horns247, with a warning to Hurts, the Sooners’ leading rusher this season, to “slide” when No. 11 Texas and No. 6 OU meet in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Saturday. Hurts has 499 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns, which leads the team in both categories.
“He’s not dumb,” Foster said of Hurts, who is averaging 99 yards per game on the ground. “He’s gonna have to slide, or it’s not gonna be good for him.”
Longhorns players, who talked a similar game before the LSU matchup earlier this season, are trying to get a leg up again in this year’s Red River Shootout after Texas beat OU 48-45 last year, but lost to the Sooners in the Big 12 championship.
The Sooners have won four of the last seven meetings, including the conference championship in 2018, 39-27. The game is set for noon Eastern and to be televised on FOX.
