A Cal linebacker made sure to get in a parting shot at Ole Miss QB Matt Corral before leaving Oxford.

“I’m just going to come out and say it, he’s not very good,” Evan Weaver said of Corral after the game, per Sam Marsdale of 247Sports.

Marsdale’s article notes that Weaver said Corral was “talking smack before the game and just couldn’t ‘put his money where his mouth was.’”

Per the Ole Miss roster, Corral is the only Rebels player from the state of California. The Long Beach Poly product facing a team from the Golden State was one of the storylines of interest heading into Saturday’s SEC vs. Pac-12 clash.

Weaver had the better day, in terms of individual performances, of the two on Saturday in Oxford. The inside linebacker finished with 22 total tackles, including 11 solo (0.5 for loss, 0.5 sack) and 2 quarterback hurries.

Corral was 22-of-41 passing for 266 yards. He also had 56 total rushing yards on 16 rushes, including a touchdown.
