Eli Manning will not get to experience the thrill of joining the NFL’s Hall of Fame in the Class of 2025. The final field was released with a 4-player group without a quarterback included.

Manning, in his first year of eligibility, did not make the cut, but he isn’t sweating it. However, the former Ole Miss star and one of the best Rebels in Ole Miss football history has jokes about the decision. In a quick interview on Bourbon Street, Manning said he’s happy for those who made it but felt he deserves some credit for former defensive end Jared Allen making the cut.

“I’m happy for the guys that got in. I feel like I was a part of the moment because Jared Allen got in, and he sacked me so many times, I feel like I helped him get in,” cracked Eli Manning. “I feel like I got to be happy about that.”

While Eli Manning finished his NFL career with a .500 record as a starter and led the league in interceptions 3 times, he guided the New York Giants to a pair of Super Bowl titles, beating Tom Brady’s vaunted New England Patriots both times. With 2 rings, 2 Super Bowl MVP awards and still ranking in the top 15 all-time for passing yards (11th with 57,023) and passing touchdowns (11th with 366), Manning likely has a case to eventually receive his Hall of Fame moment.

But either way, he’s not worried about what’s to come:

“I’m not stressed. I’m walking down Bourbon Street right now, we’ve got the Super Bowl in my hometown of New Orleans, life’s good,” concluded Manning.
