Ole Miss made one of the most interesting — and perhaps most questionable decisions — we have seen in recent weeks on the field in college football on Saturday against Florida.

During one of the plays in the game, the team made the puzzling choice to use quarterback Jaxson Dart as the lead blocker. And, well, he did not do that for defensive lineman JJ Pegues, who was set to run QB power out of the wildcat formation. That was not exactly well-received by much of anyone. Before this play, Pegues was perfect on first down conversions this season out of the backfield.

To make matters even worse, this occurred on a 4th & 1 play that could have made a large difference for Ole Miss getting to the scoreboard first. Instead, it resulted in a turnover on downs.

Check out some of our favorite reactions from social media regarding Dart’s lead blocking.

Florida and Ole Miss are now tied, 7-7 at the top of the second quarter, something that was not projected to be the case with a whole 15 minutes of football now down in the books. The stop was credited to Myles Graham, the son of former Gators standout Ernest Graham.

It will be interesting to see how things finish out here, but there is no question Florida is showing more firepower and momentum than was expected as the team looks to build upon the progress it showed in the victory over LSU.
