Though QB Shea Patterson has been exploring a transfer for a couple of weeks now, he finally made it official on Monday and will leave Ole Miss for Michigan.

The star quarterback will likely have to petition the NCAA if he wants to play in 2018, but the Wolverines still landed a solid offensive player in Patterson.

However, not everyone is thrilled with how Patterson left Ole Miss, including former Ole Miss DL C.J. Johnson. After news of the transfer broke, Johnson, now a grad assistant at FAU, said he’d wish Patterson well, but wouldn’t say thanks, as Patterson didn’t accomplish anything during his time in Oxford:

Considering the Rebels will be banned from postseason play again in 2018, it’s tough to blame players for wanting to leave.

However, Johnson clearly feels the way he does, and he doesn’t have to thank Patterson for his time as a Rebel if he doesn’t want to.

Patterson, though, will likely take note of that sleight and use it as motivation in 2018 and beyond.
