Former Syracuse DE Qaadir Sheppard is in Oxford this weekend visiting Ole Miss according to a story by Yancy Porter of Scout.com.

Sheppard played in nine games for the Orange as a freshman, but was suspended for the final three games of the season after failing a second drug test according to the Syracuse Post-Standard. The former three-star recruit from the class of 2015 was dismissed in February by new SU coach Dino Babers.

NBC Sports notes that Sheppard would have been suspended for the start of the 2016 season, but it will not affect him when his three remaining seasons of eligibility begin in 2017 at Ole Miss or whichever school he chooses.

Sheppard was rated the No. 4 prospect in the state of the New York from the 2015 class by 247Sports. He recorded one tackle and one interception as a true freshman.
