Ole Miss has quietly emerged as one of the top teams in the SEC.

The Rebels have just one loss to Alabama and have a pair of winnable games in front of them against Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. After that, Ole Miss will take on Georgia with a chance to get a signature win over the Bulldogs.

On Sunday, Greg McElroy discussed how Ole Miss has become one of the forgotten teams despite its success.

“You look at Ole Miss right now, they’re kind of the forgotten team or at least one of the forgotten teams in college football,” McElroy said. “I don’t feel like anyone’s really talking about the Rebels and here they are with games now at home against Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. You guys tell me, do you like them in both of those games? Because I personally do. They’re going to be sitting there at 8-1 with a road trip to Athens.”

The game against Georgia will be tough, and playing on the road makes things even harder. McElroy believes winning on the road is the last big obstacle for the Rebels.

“Circle that date, Nov. 11, there’s some exciting ones on that date,” McElroy said. “Because things are looking very, very good. This is the last real big hurdle for Ole Miss as far as being away from home, to be able to get to Athens with just 1 loss on the resume.”
