Jaxson Dart is not wasting any time getting off to a brilliant start for Ole Miss in the season opener against Mercer. In fact, he posted a flawless first quarter that included a trio of touchdowns.
At the end of the first quarter, Dart was a perfect 11-for-11 throwing the ball for 237 yards and 3 touchdowns. That hat trick was on behalf of Tre Harris, delivering 3 catches for 86 yards and 3 touchdowns.

That hat trick for Harris ties Ole Miss’ single-game record for receiving touchdowns held by a number of Rebels. The most recent player to hit the mark is Michael Trigg against Central Arkansas in 2022.
As for Dart, the single-game program record for passing touchdowns is 6 held by Eli Manning and Matt Corral. With 3 in the first quarter, it’s definitely not out of the realm of possibility for Dart to tie or break that mark in Week 1.
Needless to say, that kind of outburst to start the game received plenty of attention:

Jaxson Dart is 11-for-11 for 237 yards and 3 touchdowns through one quarter. Apparently that’s a 371 quarterback rating. Opponent aside, he’s been very accurate and has hit five different receivers. #OleMiss
