Ole Miss’ depth is taking a hit leading up to the start of training camp as one of the starters from last season has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal.

After starting the previous two seasons at strong safety in Oxford, defensive back Jon Haynes has entered the transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz of On 3 Sports.

Haynes started 10 games for the Rebels in 2019 and started last season for the team, including in the team’s bowl win over Indiana.

Here is the bio Ole Miss listed for Haynes for the 2020 season:

Tied for lead among Rebel DBs with two QB hurries … Intercepted one pass, totaled five tackles, including a shared TFL at Arkansas … Appeared in 11 games in 2019, starting 10 at strong safety … Finished fourth on the team with 55 total tackles

During his two seasons in Oxford, Haynes is credited with 86 tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended.
