If you don’t know about Jordan Ta’amu now, you will soon enough.

Any Ole Miss fan can tell you the Rebels have arguably the SEC’s most underrated quarterback on their side heading into 2018 and he’s a major factor into the wildcard status of the team heading into the season.

After throwing for 1,682 and 11 touchdowns to only four interceptions and rushing for another 165 and four more scores in only five and a half games of action, it will be interesting to see what the senior quarterback can do with a full season to play with arguably the best receiving corps in the nation alongside him. Aside from his impressive stats, it should be noted that Ta’amu won three of his final four starts and both of his losses were by a single possession to SEC opponents (a one-point loss to Arkansas and a seven-point loss to Texas A&M).

According to statistics from CFB Film Room, which shared this graphic on Twitter, of all returning SEC quarterbacks, Ta’amu threw the most accurate deep ball in the league.

While his stats are certainly helped by the fact he had A.J. Brown, Van Jefferson (now at Florida), DeMarkus Lodge and D.K. Metcalf on the outside and Dawson Knox roaming the middle of the field, you can’t take away just how impressive Ta’amu was in his first appearance at the major college level.

Here are the stats for all the most accurate deep ball throwers in the SEC:
