Key Ole Miss offensive starter likely out for the season, per report
Ole Miss may be without one of its most talented offensive targets for the remainder of the season. According to a report from Chuck Rounsaville on On3 Sports, tight end Michael Trigg could be out for the season with a broken collarbone sustained in the first half of the 52-28 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday.
Trigg finished that game with 1 reception for 28 yards and currently totals 17 receptions for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season. He originally transferred at the same time as quarterback Jaxson Dart from USC and has more built-up chemistry with the signal-caller than any other player on the team does.
He came into Saturday’s contest tied for the team-high in touchdowns receptions this season (3) with former Mississippi State transfer wide receiver Malik Heath.
The Rebels will face Auburn up next on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
