Lane Kiffin is no stranger to going for it on 4th down.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But he’s not afraid to roll the dice.

Kiffin, however, made a curious decision on a 4th-down play Saturday against Kentucky.

Facing 4th-and-goal at the Wildcats’ 5-yard line, Kiffin opted to go for the touchdown instead of kicking a short field goal and adding to what was a 22-19 lead.

The play failed, as Jaxon Dart’s pass fell incomplete, giving the ball back to Kentucky.
