Lane Kiffin discusses what he thinks would be the ideal timing for the 2020 football season
There’s been a lot of debate in recent weeks about the 2020 college football season and when it will start (if it starts at all).
On Friday, new Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” on SEC Network and gave his opinion on the potential start of the season.
Kiffin said he thinks the season should start at the same time as scheduled, if possible, even if it means missing out on summer camp:
Ole Miss coach @Lane_Kiffin on the timing of the CFB season: “Even if we lose practice time and summer camp and everything, if it’s all the same for everybody, it’s all the same. If it allows us to stay on schedule for the season, I think that would be the best for everyone.”

Obviously, that will depend on a number of factors, but that is just Kiffin’s opinion at this moment in time.
Kiffin also had a good joke about the kind of defensive coverage the Rebels will be playing this fall:
“[We could] play a lot of zone coverage, social-distancing … couldn’t play man-to-man.”
– @Lane_Kiffin hasn’t lost his sense of humor this summer, jokingly suggesting a way to play football while social-distancing.

Let’s hope we get to see Kiffin’s first year at Ole Miss on time this fall!
