Lane Kiffin is preparing for facing the versatile Harold Perkins in Week 5.

Kiffin had some jokes about what LSU’s role for the linebacker is. Kiffin noted that Perkins was a normal linebacker in the Week 1 loss to Florida State.

After the loss, the Tigers decided to give Perkins more freedom. Kiffin wished that LSU would just put Perkins back where the LSU LB was in the season opener.

“I don’t know if they’ve talked about it. It looks like they tried to play him like a normal linebacker in Week 1. Like a boundary will backer,” said Kiffin. “Looks like they scratched after the Florida State game and went back to last year’s plan, putting him out there and letting him make a few calls and play. I wish they’d put him back in there.”

Perkins is an interesting player to prepare for. He has played in all four games this season. Perkins has accounted for 16 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.

The Rebels will be looking to Saturday as a revenge game after losing to LSU 45-20 last season.

Ole Miss is coming off of a 24-10 loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Kickoff for Saturday’s game will be at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
